Learning Logs I purchased mine through our supply orders. I introduced them this week. We are starting out simple by recording "What we learned today" so that I can see what they are taking away from our day. I envision reflecting at the end of each "big" lesson soon. Then expanding on the logs once their sentence structure improves as well. I will also give my lower studeents the option to draw a picture too.

Learning Logs Just another suggestion...
I bought Composition Notebooks from Walmart, for 40 cents a piece, for all of my students. (Garbe just told me they're 25 cents at Office Depot)
What I will do is allow my students to decorate the out outside of these notebooks all they want, whenever they have free time. However, they can ONLY write in them when I ask them to. I will ONLY ask them to write in them when I want them to reflect or give feedback pertaining to a particular 'thoughtful' tool or strategy that was used during a lesson. The responses can be completed related to the actual lesson contact, as long as it was during a lesson in which I tried a strategy.
This learning log will then be a great 'artifact' for me to bring to our BLT meetings.
